Keen Keane

Ok lame title (apologies) but I saw Keane last night here at the Riv! I saw them last winter at the Metro, capacity of about 1100. The Riv is 2500. Now, usually I would defer to Metro shows because I love the venue, not a bad view in the place, and it's nearly my next door neighbor. But last night's show just blew the Metro's away! For those who don't know, the cherub-faced lead singer (Tom Chaplin), went into rehab last spring, cancelling their tour which included another stop here. So maybe they felt indebted? Not sure, but they bounded onto the stage last night with this crazy, electric energy that didn't stop until the last song. They told the crowd this was one of their most memorable nights and they would not forget anytime soon. Aw, I bet they say that to all the cities. Regardless, it worked. The sold-out crowd definitely showed them some love. I'd have some video to post but that will have to wait because my amateur skills are currently fighting with YouTube to accept my upload! And in a battle of the shows last night (at least in my head) I'd like to hear how the Hold Steady was in Milwaukee. Anyone? Tyger?
