I'm a day early but Okkervil River will be on Conan tomorrow night (Tuesday, 8/28).
On a somewhat related note, I caught Magnolia Electric Co. this weekend at the Empty Bottle. It was a first for both: the band and the venue. I admit, I was completely unfamiliar with MEC before this, so though they sounded good and spoke little, I don't have much to compare them to. I think I was just as impressed with the friendly, unleashed black cat lounging around the front room of the EB! Ok that's not totally true, but I did like him. Anyway, if anyone has input/recommendations regarding Magnolia, I'd like to hear 'em!

Awesome. Thanks. FYI, if ya set yr DVR, it should be for Wednesday's show, because technically, since the show starts at 12:30, it's Wednesday.
you are right ...AND i found this out the hard way when my DVR cut both RA off and now Feist (good thing I was watching), the late shows go over and DVR cuts off during a lot of music performances. so manually program your shows a few minutes longer. ok, i'm officially done geeking out for the night.
