The Results Are In...

And we're all a bunch of cheap bastards.

Sixty-two percent of people who downloaded In Rainbows paid nothing for the album, resulting in the average price people paid for the album being $2.26.

I think that's pretty sorry. Look at Thom. He's crushed!

What do you guys think?

i was disappointed to hear it. does this mean, listeners have 'proven' that if left to our own devices, we will continue to freeload/should be prosecuted for downloading? maybe it's not that drastic but it certainly doesn't seem to help us out or pave the way for other artists to follow suit a la 'in rainbows' ...does it?

I don't know, I dropped the $80. I want my vinyl and other goodies! None of this compressed garbage! $2.xx is a little harsh though, considering they're probably counting everyone who dropped the $80 for the discbox...and how many people who could give a shit about Radiohead just downloaded the album just because it was 'pay what you want?'

How much did they gross from this? I heard $10 million, which isn't bad considering the money is not being filtered through any major label and they'll probably make alot more once the CD is released.

Thank you Radiohead!
